Port Carlisle
Depending on where you start your Hadrian's Wall walk, Port Carlisle is the first or the last Methodist Chapel to greet you on your way. Set in beautiful surroundings, Port Carlisle Chapel is a lovely place welcoming visitors from all over the world. Our doors are open during the day and you are very welcome to pop in, make a hot drink in the kitchen, rest a while and reflect in the worship space.
Worship services are being held when there is a fifth Sunday in the month. We meet at 2.30pm with the community and our Anglican friends and often the chapel is packed.
During the week, the chapel is used by art and yoga groups, and if you need a tranquil space for your own activity, meeting or day retreat, you can hire the chapel. Just call Kathleen Brough on 01697 351332 for availability and fees.
No matter what brings you through the doors of this quaint place, please don't forget to sign our visitors' book and pick up a postcard. Donations are very welcome and help us to keep the doors open and the kitchen well stocked.
We also play an active part on the Carlisle Rural Mission Community.
