Reverend Rachel Williams

Minister

Rachel considers herself to be a Yorkshire lass having been born in Bradford, West Yorkshire. However, after living in Plymouth, South Zeal in Devon, Billinge near Wigan, Paderborn in Germany, Topcliffe near Thirsk, Catterick Garrison and Durham, the question ‘Where are you from?” becomes a tricky question to answer. Rachel studied health science and worked as a Nursery School Assistant before accepting the calling to be a Methodist Minister at the age of 22.

In Durham, Rachel did Foundation Training which enabled her to test the calling she felt. Whilst in Durham, Rachel met Steve and they were married a year later while Rachel completed a degree in Theology and Ministry. Steve comes from Formby near Liverpool and is a proud supporter of Liverpool Football Club. Steve is a Local Preacher in the Circuit and works locally as a voluntary Teaching Assistant.

For their first stationing Rachel and Steve served in Millom near Barrow in Furness. During this time, they first got Sam the dog (a Jack Russell terrier) and then our first son David was born. In 2016, Rachel, Steve, David and Sam the dog moved to Brampton soon after our second son John arrived.

On days off, the family enjoy walking. Rachel is keen on working with her hands, especially knitting, and reading detective fiction. Steve enjoys listening to the radio and reading football and theology books. For holidays, they love escaping in the motorhome often with Rachel’s parents who live near Lancaster.
